Here’s another case when fabrics seem to dictate a new quilt – A lover of SkyDye hand-painted fabric by Mickey Lawler, I had a delightful yellow and lavender piece on hand. When McKenna Ryan designed her wonderful line with reflections of trees, I knew the two fabrics were meant to be together. I tossed in a few batiks for the mountain, and this quilt was the result. I cut the reflection of the trees to mirror the trees in the mid-ground and placed an overlay of turquoise tulle over the water in the foreground.
