I designed and created this quilt specifically for the cover of a quilting novel I have written. Cross your fingers for me and maybe I will find a publisher soon! I painted the sky fabric with textile paints and also enhanced the water fabric with textile paints and wax pastels. I used my slick method for creating mirror images for the trees and the mountain. The trees on the upper half of the design were machine embroidered densely with a stitch I created doing teeny, tiny little circles. Each darn tree took forty-five minutes to enhance. The trees reflecting in the water have less stitching. And yes, the protagonist in my quilting novel eventually ends up living in the Pacific Northwest!
