While in New Zealand teaching at Symposium, my husband and I did some sightseeing. When we came across an incredible “black” beach, I pulled out my digital camera and took a few photographs. I printed one of the photographs directly onto a sheet of computer ready fabric, following the instructions exactly to make it colorfast. I added a narrow inner-border of green foliage and the outer border, sandwiched it and quilted it, creating a quick memory quilt.
